AMOLED Demonstration made easy with Densitron’s Exclusive Evaluation Kit

Densitron’s in-house developed OLED Evaluation Kit has been en-hanced to support Active Matrix OLED (AMOLED) displays, complete with power supply requirements. A powerful and easy to use demonstration tool for driving OLED displays from the USB port of a desk-top or laptop PC, the Kit is hot pluggable and does not require extra power supply to run, enabling quick download of pictures and creation of slide shows for immediate demonstration.

The Densitron USB OLED (DUO) Evaluation Kit comprises an AMOLED display, a USB controller card, a mini USB cable, an interchangeable AMOLED transition board, and a CD with software applications and drivers.

The Kit automatically detects the connected display and customises the initialisation to suit. Users can also easily send register commands to the driver IC, either using a command line interface or sending a script file containing all the commands and then executing the script.

In addition, the Evaluation Kit incorporates brightness and slideshow speed controls, and several Active or Passive Matrix Kits can be connected to a PC at the same time, each one running from its own USB port. This enables the properties of different OLED displays to be assessed and compared easily. The transition boards also act as a rapid development tool, as they can be disconnected from the USB controller card and used for connecting to designers’ own development systems.
