2.4GHz front end module targets Wi-Fi 5 designs

Designed for Internet of Things (IoT) systems based on Wi-Fi5 (802.11ac), a 2.4GHz front end module (FEM) from Qorvo offers a compact form factor and integrated matching to minimise layout area in applications such as wireless routers, residential gateways, and access points.

The QPF4219 FEM, available from Mouser Electronics, integrates a 2.4 GHz power amplifier (PA), regulator, single-pole double-throw (SPDT) switch, low noise amplifier (LNA) with bypass mode, and voltage power detector into a single device.

The device focuses performance on optimizing the PA for a 5V supply voltage by conserving power consumption while maintaining the highest linear output power and exceptional throughput.

It maximises receive (Rx) sensitivity through a 1.9dB noise figure performance that is consistent over a variety of conditions, and also includes integrated die-level filtering for second and third harmonics as well as 5GHz rejection for dual-band dual-concurrent (DBDC) operation.
