When Aaron PCB’s Mycronic pick and place machine had clocked in almost 50,000 manufacturing hours, the company's management team decided it was time for an upgrade. So they got in touch with Mycronic and, based on their manufacturing needs and future projections, placed an order for a MY100LXe-10.

Aaron PCB is a contract manufacturer specialising in SMT electronics, through-hole, electro-mechanical, cabling and box build assembly. Located in Shannon, Ireland, the ten-strong team covers low- to medium-volume areas of manufacturing. High mix complex boards for the semiconductor sector, heating products, metrology and instruments are just some of the company’s most recent projects.

MY100LXe-10 is a high precision pick and place machine that enables manufacturing of low volume, quick turnaround products, thanks to its fast set-up and changeover capabilities. With a top speed of 16,000 components per hour and a feeder capacity of up to 176 parts, it is at the top end of its game.

The MY100LXe-10 has been designed as an all-in-one platform for electronics manufacturers. Adaptable and upgradable, Mycronic’s machines are designed to grow with customers, should they require higher throughput.

“We purchased the MYDATA TP11-UFP machine back in 1999 and by the middle of this year it had clocked in almost 50,000 hours”, explained Gerard Murray, Managing Director, Aaron PCB.  “We were impressed with its capabilities and, since we were planning to increase production, decided to add the MY100LXe-10 to our fleet. The equipment has been set up since July and so far it’s a matter of getting used to maximising its capabilities. When we opted for Mycronic’s machine we found the entire process easy and streamlined. Mycronic did the installation and training on the machine, so they were onsite for five days. The engineers seemed very knowledgeable, polite and everything was up and running by the end of the week when we commenced production! We are very happy with our purchase and we see lots of opportunities for ourselves and our clients in the future”.
