New Yorker Electronics has announced the release of Exxelia’s new Alcon FP-20-400-SP Film-Capacitor for high-power applications. Because of its extraordinary power density, it’s able to handle high levels of power without compromising on performance.

This device has an operating frequency up to 1000KHz and a capacitance range of 0.10µF to 2.5µF. VRMS options are available in 500V, 600V, 700V, 800V and 1000V with a max power of 400KVAR and a frequency range of 106 kHz through 637 kHz. The Exxelia Alcon FP-20-400-SP is built to withstand the rigors of demanding environments, ensuring reliability in critical applications. In demanding power electronic circuits, this capacitor is a trusted component for smooth operation in induction heating, electric cars, medical imaging, EV wireless chargers, resonant circuits and industrial induction welding.

The wide temperature range allows this series to operate flawlessly across a broad temperature range (up to 85°C with a copper casing to improve temperature management). This makes suitable for various industries, including aerospace, defense and renewable energy, where extreme conditions are the norm.

This polypropylene capacitor series is conduction cooled, self healing and has a ±10% capacity tolerance. The Flame Retardant UL94-V0, RoHS compliant, and because of an innovative process, Exxelia keeps the capacitor very dense while maintaining very good electrical characteristics (such as current) without impairing the heating of the part.
