Guide looks at common conformal coating & cleaning defects
The SMART Group has published a guide entitled “Conformal Coating & Cleaning Defect Guide 2.” It is free of charge and provides examples of the most common process defects and common cures. The guide was supported by Humiseal & Electrolube and SMART Group committee appreciates their ongoing support.
The guide also features many of the common as well as less obvious defects seen during production, including those associated with components, printed circuit boards, design, materials, assembly and rework. It also includes some of the issues that are seen on field returns.
SMART Group’s first “Lead-Free Defect Guide” was produced in 2007 and updated in 2008, and was circulated worldwide with more than a 1000 free downloads.
