Epoxy resists chemicals and abrasion as well as high temperature

Master Bond Supreme 45HTQ-4 is a toughened epoxy for high performance bonding, sealing, coating and casting and can be used for a wide variety of industrial, aerospace, OEM and oil processing applications, especially in downhole situations.

Supreme 45HTQ-4 combines chemical, temperature and abrasion resistance. Serviceable from -100°F to +450°F, it is capable of withstanding rigorous thermal cycling. This compound offers high tensile lap shear, compressive and tensile strength of 1,400-1,600 psi, 24,000-26,000 psi and 8,000-9,000 psi, respectively. Supreme 45HTQ-4 also retains its strength at elevated temperatures. It is a dimensionally stable system with low shrinkage upon curing. Additionally, this epoxy has excellent electrical insulation properties with a dielectric constant at 60 Hz of 4.6 and a volume resistivity exceeding 1014 ohm-cm.

Supreme 45HTQ-4 has a mix ratio of 100 to 30 by weight and a thixotropic paste consistency. It features a long pot life of more than 12 hours at room temperature for a 100 gram batch. This compound requires oven curing at 250-300°F with various cure schedules. A post cure of 4 hours at 350°F will optimize properties. Bond strength to a wide variety of substrates, including metals, composites, ceramics, rubbers and most plastics is excellent.

This gray colored system is available for use in standard packaging options ranging from ½ pint to 5 gallon kits as well as specialty Semkits. Supreme 45HTQ-4 has a shelf life of 6 months at ambient temperatures.
