The built-in display may be set to display temperatures in either °C or °F, and the resolution of the display, depending on inputs is 0.1°C, 1°C or 1°F. Each of the dual alarms may be set as HIGH or LOW, and ABSOLUTE or RELATIVE. The output relay will handle AC loads of up to 10 Amps, and may be wired Normally Open (NO) or Normally Closed (NC). Additionally, there is a multipurpose digital input (5V, 1mA, NO/NC), the action of which may be programmed.
Programming is effected manually via the integral, lockable keypad. The EV6421M is IP54 protected, and has a body of self-extinguishing grey plastic. The working temperature range is 0 to 55°C (32 to 131°F), and the working humidity range is 10 to 90%RH without condensate. Connection to the module is via screw terminals, and its size is 3 DIN modules or 53mm, (2.1) wide, 90mm (3.6) high, and 61mm (2.4) deep.
Said Roy Carter, MD of Celsum Technologies, The EV6421M is a very useful device to have available. We have used it in several of our own special-purpose instruments where we have needed a DIN-Rail module to monitor temperature and sound an alarm when things got too hot. We found it easy to install and to programme, and the range of input and control options is quite impressive. It has applications including process control, quality control, R&D, and troubleshooting, and in many industrial sectors.
