Taoglas, a provider of advanced RF and antenna solutions, has released the Patriot series: a compact, multi-function combination roof mount antenna designed for connected vehicle fleets across emergency services, utilities, and commercial sectors.

Integrating up to 18 antenna elements in a single low-profile enclosure, the Patriot provides robust multi-network connectivity while reducing vehicle roof clutter and simplifying installation.

Originally developed for the Ford Interceptor, the existing vehicle OEM antenna can simply be replaced with the Patriot, while keeping the original antenna functionality, but also adding multi-radio connectivity. This reduces the need for more, or even any, new holes to be drilled in the roof of the vehicle. This format significantly simplifies and reduces installation time and cost for upfitters, reducing costs for public departments on antennas and eliminating the need to fill in roof holes when selling the vehicle.

Supporting 5G and 4G cellular (600–6000MHz), with both dual-band GNSS (L1 and L1/ L5) and a secondary GNSS (L1), Wi-Fi (2.4, 5.8, and 7.1 GHz), SDARS (2.3GHz), and LMR/TETRA (380–400MHz and 700–900MHz), the Patriot allows for concurrent broadband, navigation, telemetry, and voice services. A dedicated whip element with full P25 VHF/UHF/700-900 MHz support is available in various lengths to meet frequency requirements.

Built on a flexible, scalable platform, the patent-pending Patriot can be customised to suit specific application needs. The full 17- and 18-in-1 configurations are available now, with additional variants offering combinations of up to 18 integrated elements to follow based on customer requirements. This modular approach allows companies to match antenna performance and connectivity to their operational needs while maintaining a consistent, proven mechanical design.

“The Patriot was developed in close collaboration with first responder agencies who told us they needed a simple, more reliable way to manage vehicle connectivity,” said Chris Friend, Vice President, North American Sales, Mobility and Infrastructure, Taoglas. “This flexible antenna platform allows them to consolidate critical network functions into a single, rugged unit that’s easy to install and delivers dependable performance in the field when every second counts.”

The antenna’s rugged IK08- and IP69K-rated housing (205mm length x 180mm width + variable whip height between 60mm - 16 mm) fits neatly between roof ribs, using the existing OEM mounting hole. It features a custom-engineered foam gasket for the perfect seal between the antenna and the curved vehicle roof, for a seamless, secure, and interference-free installation. The aerodynamic design enhances aesthetics while reducing wind resistance. Black, white and other color options are available to match vehicle exteriors.

Signal performance across all supported bands has been carefully designed for optimal gain, isolation, and efficiency. Cable types, lengths, and connector options are fully customisable.
