Advantech announces the arrival of SOM-5894 — a COM-Express Basic module powered by the latest 4th generation Intel Core processor. SOM-5894 offers high performance and outstanding graphics, supports multiple combinations of three independent displays, as well as abundant high speed I/O and flexible expansion interfaces up to PCIe x16 gen 3.
SOM-5894 provides an ideal solution for high-end industrial applications such as medical, automation, gaming, telecom, and digital signage.

Impressive Performance for Demanding Applications
Advantech takes the lead by incorporating a 4th Generation Intel Core processor into SOM-5894 with its boosted CPU and graphics performance. The design of the low power PCH and low voltage DDR3 improves power consumption. SOM-5894 includes both quad core and dual core processor each with different TDP. Customers can also enable lower TDP options through the new configurable TDP down function to meet different needs. Supporting wide voltage operation (8.5~20V), and offering impressive performance makes SOM-5894 entirely suitable for high-end applications.

Three Independent Symmetrical Displays with Top 3D Performance
Along with the advancement of large high definition panels, multi-display features have become more necessary. New generation Intel HD Graphics with DX11.1, OpenCL 1.2 and OpenGL 4.0 support, offers enhanced media effects and significantly improved 3D performance. SOM-5894 supports 3 independent symmetrical displays, enabling better display configurations with no bandwidth limitations. Different display combinations include: 3 DisplayPorts, or DisplayPort+HDMI+HDMI, etc.; either in clone mode or extended mode—benefitting the medical, gaming and digital signage industries.

Numerous Hi Speed I/O and Configurable Expansion Interface
Built-in high speed I/O ports include USB 3.0 and SATAIII for huge data transmission. In addition, there's support for expanding the payload with FPGA or ASIC. The PCIe x16 lane that up to Gen3 (8 GT/s bit rate) can be used in combinations of x8 or x4, and the six PCIe x1 lanes can be used in configurations of x4 or x2. Because of its flexibility, customers have the advantage of I/O expansion at the time of system design.

Supports Advantech iManager 2.0 and SUSIAccess
Advantech iManager, included with SOM-5894, provides a valuable suite of programmable APIs such as multi-level watchdog, hardware monitor, smart fan, brightness control and more; all with user-friendly interfaces. It also comes with Advantech SUSIAccess bundled for system integrators to remotely centralize monitoring and management of all their embedded devices, and even recover them if they fail.
