High performance S/DMV-1908 from Curtiss-Wright Controls introduced by Mistral

Mistral expands its product offerings with the latest product from Curtiss-Wright Controls –the S/DMV-1908 Single Board Computer. The S/DMV- 1908 from Curtiss-Wright Controls Defense Solutions is a low cost, high performance technology insertion Single Board Computer (SBC). The S/DMV-1908 supports Intel’s latest mobile processor technology, based on the 4th Generation Core i7 Haswell Processor from Intel.

Utilizing this advanced quad-core CPU and Curtiss-Wright Controls’ proven ruggedization technology, the S/DMV-1908 is a perfect replacement for older SBCs, breathing new life and increased performance into systems required to be around for years to come. In addition to adapting to Curtiss-Wright’s own legacy VME SBCs, the S/DMV-1908 is also designed to replace many of the market’s other legacy VME SBCs.

The S/DMV-1908 has a contemporary high speed DDR3 memory subsystem connected directly to the processor and has a capacity of up to 32 GB, thereby maximizing the Intel floating point processing units through the Core i7 processor. The Core i7 is also equipped with L3 cache allowing it to process larger vectors at peak rates than previous processor technologies. Having up to 64 GB of Flash makes the S/DMV-1908 an ideal SBC for handling applications with demanding storage, data logging and sensor processing requirements. The S/DMV-1908 includes dual X/PMC PMC sites for the latest as well as legacy daughter cards. Additionally, the board supports a host of standard I/O including Gigabit Ethernet, RS232/422, GPIO, DVI, SATA, USB, and Audio.

Three popular operating systems, VxWorks 6.9, WES7, and Fedora Core are available on the S/DMV-1908. The SBC is available in an air-cooled variant at Level 0 and Level 100 and conduction-cooled in Level 200.
