Rugged handheld device makes enterprise applications run faster

ARBOR Technology has announced the GT-500 as an addition to its acclaimed Gladius series of rugged handheld devices. The Gladius GT-500 runs Android version 5.1 ‘Lollipop’ on a MediaTek MT6735 64-bit quad-core processor, providing superior performance, low power consumption and fast, comprehensive connectivity. The robust unit comes with a bright, spacious yet still pocketable high-res 5″ display.

It supports voice and multiple data connectivity including NFC, Bluetooth, 3G and 4G LTE, making the Gladius GT-500 ideal for numerous mission-critical assignments in logistics, retail and public safety sectors.

ARBOR’s GT-500 is a tri-mode modem device, integrating 2G, 3G and 4G LTE mobile broadband for persistent connectivity. 4G wireless communications provides up to 10x the speeds of 3G networks, equipping the GT-500 with excellent connectivity and superior data transmission efficiency. In addition to Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, NFC, and GPS capabilities, the GT-500 has an integrated 1D/2D barcode reader to facilitate real-time data collection and processing.

As an enterprise-grade device, the fully-rugged GT-500 features an attractive, purposeful look and feel. Its robust yet elegantly contoured case adds both durability and aesthetics. The user-friendly multi-touch interface, an ergonomic 5” display suitable for one-handed operation and anti-slip coating design on the rear of the device, allow safe, easy handling and efficient use of the device.

The GT-500 is IP67 rated and offers an impressive 1.5m drop resistance, which eliminates downtime via high level protection against dust and liquids as well as drops and shock.
