Ismosys now offers a range of high-performance network cards for high-end enterprise network server applications from Interphase. SlotOptimizer cards provide multiple Gigabit Ethernet (GE) ports complemented by hardware-based offload encryption/decryption processing via an on-board security accelerator processor.
The latest introductions in the SlotOptimizer network card family are the PCI Express Low Profile Dual-Port Gigabit Ethernet Adapter (SlotOptimizer 562GL) and the PCI Express Low Profile Quad-Port Gigabit Ethernet Adapter (SlotOptimizer 564GL). Ideal for small footprint and rack-mounted servers, the new cards support both low-profile and full-height brackets for maximum flexibility. Each independent GE port supports auto negotiation, enabling the cards to auto-configure to the best possible mode of operation over an Internet link and ensuring the highest possible performance for the application.

According to Randall McComas, vice president at Interphase, the new PCI Express x4-compliant cards feature a Broadcom BCM5715C 10/100/1000Base-T controller with integrated transceiver: “”The ports are IEEE 802.3ab compliant, and each supports up to 2Gbps throughput per port at full or half duplex operation over RJ-45 connectors. Two LEDs per port show link status/activity and network speed. The Broadcom drivers support advanced features such as CPU task offload, priority queuing, virtual LANs, flow control, link aggregation, and failover for both boards, and jumbo frames (9KB) may be configured on the SlotOptimizer 564G,” he commented.

Comments Ismosys MD, Nigel Watts: “Interphase is widely recognized for its portfolio of high-performance Cavium OCTEON-based multi-core packet processor cards. However, its wide range of high-performance network cards also means that most networking requirements can be met with an off-the-shelf solution.” Interphase also offers a customization service that ensures an exact fit to the specification.
