Railway embedded PC targets IoT & M2M-related applications

A fanless railway embedded PC, based on a 4th gen Intel Core i7/i3 processor, has been introduced by Axiomtek. Certified with EN50155, EN50121 and complied with the standard of railway vehicles fire protection, PrCEN TS 45545-2, the tBOX322-882-FL is well suited for IoT and M2M-related applications. 

To keep all cables tightly secured, the device features standard M12 connectors for Ethernet ports, USB ports, power input and the audio port. Offered with the latest quad core processor, the PC provides a graphics performance which is two times higher than previous generation.

The tBOX322-882-FL, which operates across a -40 to +70°C temperature range, features four Gigabit Ethernet ports, two isolated COM ports, one isolated DI/DO port, one USB 2.0 port, two USB 3.0 ports, three audio ports and one HDMI. Other I/O interfaces include one DVI-D, one VDC power input, one remote power switch, one reset switch, one 2.5” SATA drive tray, one CFast socket, two SIM card sockets and four antenna openings.

“The Axiomtek tBOX322-882-FL equipped with rich I/O interface, including isolated DIO, COM and LAN ports, fulfills the highest requirements in railway applications. It can be applied to passenger infotainment, train operating control, security surveillance and many more. In particular, three embedded PCIe Mini Card slots and two SIM card holders offer extensive expansion to 3G/4G, GPS, WiFi and Bluetooth applications. Two lockable and removable SATA HDD drive bays are easily accessible from the front and is vibration assistant. Its significant anti-vibration design can endure up to 5Grms (with CFast) and 3Grms (with HDD)," said Jerry Huang, Product Manager, Product Marketing Division, Axiomtek.

The tBOX322-882-FL fanless railway embedded PC will be available in May 2015.
