Expanding its ELIT series line up, ARBOR Technology has added a 19" 1U industrial grade rackmount box PC: the ELIT-2240. Based on Intel Core i5/i3 Celeron and Pentium processors in LGA 1155 socket (TDP is under 65W), the box PC supports dual DDR3 LONG-DIMM socket for up to 16GB RAM for exceptional performance and efficiency. It is targeted at the digital signage market, broadcast and data communications, particularly for Passenger Information Systems (PIS).

PIS is a fast-growing segment of public transportation which requires a reliable backbone to operate efficiently. By adopting the ELIT-2240 as the core of its central control unit, users can control and transmit real-time information among the central control unit, the sub-station control units and the display terminals, providing dynamic and real-time information including notices for passengers, time of departure and arrival, station announcements and other multi-media information.

The space-efficient ELIT-2240 is only 1U high and therefore can be easily mounted to fit into any space-limited environment. The model supports two independent HDMI ports for dual display, one VGA internal pin header, as well as four gigabit RJ-45 LAN ports, six USB 2.0 ports and two serial ports. Other features include one PCI Express x16 expansion slot for optional wireless communication modules such as WiFi or 3G, giving administrators the flexibility to add the exact functionality they need.
