Axiomtek’s NA-200B six-port 1U desktop network appliance is powered by Intel® EP80579 Integrated Processor (system-on-a-chip, SoC) 600 MHz with Intel® QuickAssist technology. The Intel® EP80579 Integrated Processor with Intel® QuickAssist Technology combined a memory controller hub, an I/O controller hub, a CPU, and a security co-processor into one, which simplifies and speeds up platform design while bringing the benefits of smaller footprint, reducing power consumption up to 34%, improving computing performance to 55% higher than similar products, and comprehensive I/O. Its advanced power savings allow for a low total cost of ownership.
With only 44 x 220 x 151 mm in size, the NA-200B supports six high-speed Gigabit LAN ports, DDR2 800 SODIMM None-ECC memory or ECC memory up to 2GB, and one MiniPCI interface for extended networking application. This compact yet high performance network appliance is ideal for firewalls, VPN, anti-spam and anti-virus applications, as well as intrusion detection and prevention.

“By using the Intel® EP80579 SoC CPU, Axiomtek’s NA-200B with an ultra compact desktop footprint can bring you higher performance, better stability and lower power consumption than previous multi-chip solutions. Customers using the new NA-200B also benefit from Intel® QuickAssist Technology. Its CPU processing efficiency increases to 85%, security services such as single tunnel are 3.5 times faster than non-accelerated, security services such as Bulk, Hash and Public Key are 34 times faster than non-accelerated. Our new network appliance platform also supports optional functions as ECC memory for mission critical applications,” said Philip Wei, Product Manager of Applied Computing & Network Device Business Unit at Axiomtek.

The hardware system has powerful storage interfaces including one 2.5” SATA2 hard disk drive bay and a CompactFlash™ card. To prevent problems from sudden shutdown, the NA-200B supports LAN bypass function through WDT and GPIO pin definitions. It also features function of BIOS redirection to console port. Other I/O features include two USB, one RJ-45 console port, power jack, and system reset switch. Moreover, the NA-200B supports mainstream Linux kernel 2.6 and 2.4 operating systems to better support customers who have developed applications on the above listed versions.
