PLX Technology announced that PLX USB Duet technology was chosen by NEC Personal Products Ltd. (NEC), a leading provider of PC in Japanese market. USB Duet technology provides unmatched USB connectivity for the latest NEC LaVie M series notebooks, as well as LaVie Light netbook family. NEC is first to market with USB Duet-enabled, full-size laptops, offering users unique product features and unprecedented connectivity.
USB Duet is a unique combination of PLX hardware and application software designed directly into new mobile computers such as NEC's, thus enabling effortless standard, USB-cabled PC-to-PC connectivity without the need for special drivers or setup. USB Duet allows Windows®-based mobile computers to easily share files with other PCs.

NEC LaVie mobile PC users now have the freedom to easily share data with other computers, thanks to the versatile PLX USB Duet feature, said Hideaki Katou, associate senior vice president at NEC. Our mobile computing platforms have long been at the forefront of both innovation and understanding what users want, and USB Duet built into LaVie notebooks and netbooks helps keep us there.

PLX USB technology has evolved beyond mere silicon; through USB Duet, it's become an entire solution by which system designers such as NEC can quickly and economically differentiate their designs into market-leading products, said Gene Schaeffer, vice president of worldwide sales at PLX. We're pleased to be a part of NEC's LaVie platform that brings this unprecedented connectivity to mobile computing.
