The new SerialDis display , available from Celsum Technologies, is a packaged in a rugged ABS housing sealed to IP65, and is ideal for when a data display driven by an RS232 or RS485 interface in required. SerialDis has six bright, red, 7-segment LEDs, nominally 20mm high, that can be programmed to display data. from a PC or directly from a suitably configured device. Celsum offers several such devices, such as the radio telelmetry T24-SO serial output model, and some models of both the DSC Digital Strain Card and DCell Digital Strain Puck digital-output conditioning amplifers for strain gauge devices. Single or multi-drop devices are supported, since SerialDis has addressing support.
SerialDis can operate at baud rates from 9,600 to 115,200, and uses 8 data bits, 1 stop bit and no parity. It needs a supply voltage of between 8 and 18V DC, and has a 200mA nominal current consumption. The minimum value that can be displayed is 0.00001, and the maximum is 199999. Power for connected serial devices is available, between 8 and 15V DC.

SerialDis has many applications, from laboratories to the factory floor, for diverse applications such as weight, temperature, force, pressure, humidity, speed, and more.
