The BL654PA (Power Amplified) module from Laird Connectivity is in stock at Mouser Electronics. The FCC, IC, RCM, KC, and Bluetooth SIG-certified module allows engineers to implement single-mode Bluetooth 5 and Thread (802.15.4) technology into simple Bluetooth Low Energy designs.

The module is based on the multi-protocol Nordic nRF52840 system-on-chip (SoC), which features an Arm Cortex-M4F core and a multi-protocol radio that supports Bluetooth 5, ANT/ANT+, and proprietary 2.4GHz networking. The BL654PA module offers extended wireless range with transmit power +18 dBm, configurable down to -26dBm.

Several programming options including Laird’s smartBASIC language offer design flexibility. The smartBASIC language, ideal for memory-constrained applications, cuts time to market by enabling fast and efficient Bluetooth Low Energy development.

It also acts as a bridge between software and hardware, allowing an application to work on any smartBASIC radio.

Available with either an internal trace antenna or external IPEX MHF4 connector, the module is ideal for applications such as beacons, medical peripherals, industrial monitors, smart home, and other Internet of Things (IoT) devices.

The BL654PA module is supported by the BL654PA development kits, also available with either an internal trace antenna or external IPEX MHF4 connector.

Enabling rapid wireless connectivity prototyping, the kit offers multiple power supply options, including USB, external DC supply, and batteries.
