A ruggedised, compact, fanless, embedded modular system with Intel Celeron Quad Core J1900 SoC processor has been announced by Advantech. The ARK-2230 supports Advantech’s unique iDoor modules and ARK-Plus modules which is suitable for customers who require customised systems for equipment integration.

Customers who need to integrate different equipment may find that standard product offerings leave a lot to be desired. And if they choose to customise one of the standard offerings, they soon run into time-consuming sample processes and budget issues, not to mention hardware and software integration, re-verification, and re-certification. But with Advantech, they can bypass these problems. Advantech provides a modular ARK customisation service that helps customers build their applications on best-fit systems with a series of ready-to-order I/O modules.

100+ customisation
iDoor modules are very compact and can easily be installed into the ARK-2230. We have a full selection of iDoor modules, including GbE, CANBus, RS232/422/485, USB, printer port and other industrial I/O functionality. System Integrators can select the right iDoor for the job, and verification can focus on iDoor and its connected devices. Each ARK-2230 can install one iDoor module with no dimensional changes.

ARK-Plus is a stackable, add-on module for ARK-2230 with an Advantech proprietary MIOe interface. The MIOe interface carries serval types of high speed communication buses, which can support more I/Os than a single iDoor module. Moreover, its slim enclosure can also provide a removable 2.5” drive bay. The System Integrator can install one iDoor and one ARK-Plus module in an ARK-2230 box computer at the same time. So the modular ARK-2230 can support more than one hundred different I/O combinations, while remaining quite compact in size.

50% time savings
Advantech’s online services for ARK-2230 offer a quick and flexible way to customise system configuration, with optimised sample delivery times. The whole process typically saves 50% of the time normally spent on customising systems.

$30,000+ cost savings
Customers save money on product certification fees and customisation NRE. Advantech ready-to-order, modular design embedded systems allow configuration to customer requirements without any additional customisation fees.

Advantech fanless embedded system ARK-2230 is designed to give developers fast, convenient and simplified solutions for industrial and embedded applications. To provide flexible support for different function requests, Advantech offers diverse modular I/O products that provide functions. The user can choose flexible and stable modular I/Os without concern for additional customisation time, NRE, and costs. With Advantech modular I/O design, customers can rapidly implement diverse applications and maximise the resulting benefits.
