MEN Mikro Design the SC27 Intel Atom SBC for Panel PCs

The SC27 single-board computer was specially designed for demanding display applications with particularly little space. It controls panel PCs with screen sizes starting from 7. With its rugged, maintenance-free and fanless design, it excels in critical industrial controls as well as in driver desk solutions and infotainment systems in trains and buses or in HMIs in the automotive sector.
Rugged, Flexible, Compact – an All-Rounder for Graphics Applications
An Intel Atom processor of the E600 series controls the SC27 with a frequency of up to 1.6 GHz. Based on the PCI Express standard for the processor-to-chipset interface it offers flexible possibilities for connecting application-specific I/O and improved graphics performance. As it is compact and powerful at the same time the SBC is perfect for display sizes from 7 to 15 with a maximum resolution of 1280 x 768 pixels.

Thanks to its comparably low power dissipation of 5 to 7 Watts and a temperature sensor for monitoring the display, the SC27 is a reliable partner even in the extended temperature range of -40 to +85°C.

The SC27 is equipped with 2 GB DDR2 SDRAM, an M12 connector for Fast Ethernet, two USBs and one RS232 or RS422/485 interface as well as one GPS interface. Further I/O functions (e.g. CAN bus) can be added using SA-Adapters™.

Wireless communication via WIFI, WIMAX, GSM/GPRS, UMTS, HSDPA and LTE can be provided via the PCI Express Mini Card and the microSIM card slot. This is how passengers can be kept up to date through infotainment applications even during the trip.

By default, the SC27 includes a rail-compliant wide-range PSU for 24 VDC/36 VDC. Optionally, power supply can be implemented via Power over Ethernet (48 VDC), which is the more economic version.

The SC27 is well equipped for dust, humidity or even strong vibration, as it is prepared for coating and all of its components are soldered.
