Media converter targets automotive Ethernet

Automotive Ethernet is a standardised interface in the automotive industry and an important component of future vehicle architectures. GOEPEL electronic has now developed the second generation of the EasyCON media converter. It physically converts a standard Ethernet layer to Automotive Ethernet 1000/100 Base-T1.

EasyCON enables the coupling of Automotive Ethernet components (e.g. cameras for driver assistance systems, matrix LED headlights) to a standard PC. Both master and slave operation are supported.

Keys on the device can be used to select between different modes (Master/Slave, USB/Ethernet or 100/1000 Mbit/s).

EasyCON can be connected to a PC is via standard RJ45 or USB3.0 connectors.

An adapter cable from RJ45 to 9-pin DSUB is also included. Power is supplied via USB or via an optional external 12V plug-in power supply unit.

The EasyCON media converter has a robust miniature housing with dimensions of approx. 35mm x 60mm x 114mm (H x W x D), is impact-protected and therefore also suitable for mobile use.
