Authorised distributor Mouser Electronics is now shipping the new LBAD0XX1SC Type 1SC CAT M1 and NB-IoT module from Murata.
The LBAD0XX1SC is said to be the world’s smallest, global certified, ultra-low-power Cat M1/NB-IoT module for wearables, smart meters, healthcare, and asset-tracking applications.
Murata says that the module is a breakthrough in LTE-M technology. This tiny powerhouse (11.1 × 11.4 × 1.5mm) allows for connection anytime from anywhere, with a silver resin-shielded LGA package that includes a Sony ALT1250 transceiver, a front-end module (FEM), and 16MB external flash memory. The compact design is ideal for wearables that previously had no means of cellular connectivity.
With integrated TCXO boasting robust low-drift thermal characteristics, the Type 1SC ensures a precise clock source for the RF transceiver, enhancing the reliability of your cellular connections with a user-friendly AT Command interface.
The Type 1SC is designed to meet 3GPP release specifications and optimized for class 3 LTE output power (+23dBm), featuring external antenna configurations, 1.5μA hibernation current (average), and an OTA firmware upgrade.
Application development with the module is supported by the LBAD0XX1SC-DM-EVK-B evaluation kit. The kit includes a Type 1SC evaluation board, two mini-USB cables, and a quick start guide.
It features an Arduino shield interface, one micro-SIM slot, three LEDs, an SMA connector for RF testing, and an LTE/GNSS antenna. The power for the evaluation board can be provided by USB hosts or an external 5V supply, for conversion by LDOs to generate the 3.3V and 1.8V voltages for the onboard circuits.
