Today, Lanner Electronics Inc, an industrial computer ODM announced the LEC-3000- a SFF communications appliance for SCADA systems. The Lanner LEC-3000 utilizes the low power VIA Eden processor with a VX800 chipset and features 4 COM ports with ESD protection. The appliance also has a rich array of connectivity ports, a cable-less and fanless SFF chassis, and an extended temperature specification, making it ideal for deployment in automation environments.
The Lanner LEC-3000’s 4 COM ports are each capable of sending signals via RS-232, RS-442 or RS-485. This signal can be adjusted or changed via the auto flow control located on the motherboard, without modification in the BIOS. This makes the LEC-3000 ideal for working with programmable logic controllers in industrial environments or in conjunction with power management tools in utility systems.

The LEC-3000 is designed for easy integration into automation settings. It is a completely fanless system encased in heat dissipating aluminum. Internally, the LEC-3000 is completely cable-free, which translates to improved reliability and longevity. A DIN mount is attached to the exterior, allowing the system to be ready for use right out of the box. The appliance boasts a wide temperature range, from -20º to 55º Celsius.

The LEC-3000 is built around the VIA Eden processor and VX800 chipset for low power consumption coupled with high processing ability. There is a CF Socket for storage needs. Other features include VGA, 4 USB, 2 GbE LAN, a RJ45 console port, a DIO port with (4 in / 4 out), a CF socket and a PCI/104 slot for proprietary expansion purposes. The LEC-3000 is capable of running Embedded Windows XP, Windows XP 32 bit, as well as Linux Kernel 2.4.16 and above.
