Kontron expanded its portfolio of long-term available Kontron Industrial Silent Severs (KISS) with a new Quad-Core 2U rack-mount platform in four variants. With the new Kontron Industrial Silent Server KISS 2U KTQ45/Flex, Kontron fills an extremely wide range of requirements for different applications in test and measurement, image processing, process control, video surveillance and gaming.
With four different versions and various expansion options, the Kontron Industrial Silent Server KISS 2U KTQ45/Flex offers customers perfectly tailored systems and a faster time-to-market. The systems come in a full box depth of 472 mm or in a short version for confined spaces with a depth of only 350 mm. With 2U height, the high-performance quad-core systems still offer enough space for four low-profile PCI and PCIe cards or two full-height cards (2x PCI or 2 x PCIe or 1x PCIe & 1 PCI). Despite its compact and space-saving footprint, the KISS 2U KTQ45/Flex offers numerous expansion options. Customers can choose the right system from four different versions based on two different case depths and two expansion options (2 x PCI or 2 PCI and 2 PCIe).

All four Kontron KISS 2U KTQ45/Flex versions offer high performance up to an Intel Core 2 Quad Q9400 processor with embedded lifecycle support and 8 GB DDR3 SDRAM. Additionally, the new Kontron Industrial Silent Servers implement the Intel AMT 5.0 Active Management Technology, enabling in- and out-of-band remote management. This helps customers significantly reduce maintenance costs and total cost of ownership. Furthermore, equipped with Kontron's PC Condition Monitoring (PCCM) solution, preventive servicing can take place on an on-demand basis for even higher availability and lower TCO. And for security sensitive applications it features an integrated Intel Trusted Platform Module (TPM 1.2). Typical for the server range, the KISS servers are equipped with an energy efficient 80+ class 400-watt power supply unit, which can also be implemented as a redundant PSU for highest system availability.
