To enable remote devices to communicate with the host without modifying existing application software, software drivers are loaded onto a PC or server. Peripheral devices can be centrally managed and monitored from a remote server or PC via an IP address.
The AnywhereUSB devices are compatible with bulk or interrupt type USB devices, including bar-code scanners, printers, fingerprint scanners, mice, pole displays, card readers, flash drives and security keys. The hubs, which are compatible with Watchport/V3 USB camera, Watchport sensors and Edgeport USB-to-serial converters, are suitable for networked USB or serial devices in VMware and Microsoft virtualised environments.
