Tiny Green PC has launched a fibre optic module and expanded the customisation capabilities of its compact fanless PCs. This addition gives customers the opportunity to harness what the company claims to be the fastest data connectivity available today and benefit from a direct connection to a fibre backbone.

Commenting, Viru Patel, Sales Manager at Tiny Green PC said, “Interest in fibre is growing fast and customers are attracted to the very high data speeds and their immunity to EMI and other interference. Fibre optic network backbones are now quick and simple to install and to upgrade. We have responded by launching a new FACE module allowing a Tiny Green PC fanless machine to be connected directly to a fibre backbone, giving it full access to the performance of this connectivity.”

The FM-OPLN fibre optic FACE Module is compatible with the Intel-based Intense PC 2 i5 and Intense PC 2 i7 from Tiny Green PC. It incorporates dual SFP+ fibre optics sockets providing LAN 10/100/1000BASE-X Ethernet connectivity, which is compliant with the IEEE 802.3z standard. It also features two additional USB 2.0 downstream ports and supports both Windows and Linux operating systems.

Tiny Green PC offers a range of FACE modules, allowing customers to add connectivity and flexibility to their PC. A recent addition was the PoE FACE module, allowing fanless PCs to power up to four peripherals. The FM-POE FACE module offers 48V 802.3af standard POE so the peripherals can be located up to 100m from the PC. Other modules offer USB 3.0 ports, additional 4 Lan ports, serial ports PCI Express interfaces, video capture and other facilities.

Tiny Green PC has a flexible, configurable and expandable portfolio of compact PCs for the most challenging environments, designed to address anything from standard to complex needs. The portfolio includes energy efficient Intel and AMD powered PCs, all sharing a compact form factor, rich I/O and fanless design with no moving parts. Tiny Green PC tests, customises and configures all PCs in its lab in the UK and supports its products with a five-year warranty.
