Fanless embedded system operates from -20 to +55°C

A slim and mountable fanless embedded system has been introduced by Advantech. The ARK-1550, which has a 4th generation Intel Core i5-4300U 1.9GHz/ Intel Celeron 2980U 1.6GHz processor, is 46.6mm in height, operates from -20 to +55°C and has multiple I/O interfaces. The system is EMC and Safety certified (CE/ FCC/ UL/ CCC/ CB/ BSMI).

The ARK-1550 I/O interfaces include two GbE, one HDMI, one VGA, one RS-232, two RS-232/422/485, two USB 3.0, two USB 2.0, an 8b DIO, an audio line in/out and a mic-in. The system also has a latching connector for power input, COM ports, DIO port, DVI port, HDMI port, and expansion slots. The latching connector maintains cable connections even when there is vibration. For storage, the system has two 2.5” hard drive bays and mSATA support.

With a 64b, multi-core processor with 22nm process technology, ARK-1550 provides fast CPU performance, media support and up to three displays: VGA, LVDS and HDMI, which can support up to 4K2K resolution. Due to its slim design and VESA/DIN Rail/wall mounting kits and its temperature range, the system can also be used with a variety of panels, either inside or out. 

The ARK-1550 has built-in Advantech SUSIAccess, which provides a remote management API that lets users monitor, configure and control a large number of terminals with centralised real-time maintenance. SUSIAccess also supports System Recovery (by Acronis), System Protection (by McAfee) and remote KVM. It's iManager F/W technology provides an intelligent, cross-platform, self-management tool that monitors system status and takes automatic action if anything is abnormal. The system also supports built-in Intel AMT 9.0 security technology for three-way protection: threat management, identity and access point protection and remote and local monitoring protection.
