External hard drive protects data from shock

Featuring a SuperSpeed USB 3.0 interface for fast file transfers, the HV100 external hard drive has been released by ADATA Technology. For legacy devices, the device is also USB 2.0 backwards compatible.

To protect data, the hard drive is cased in plastic and features G Shock Sensor Protection. If the device experiences shock, the G Shock Sensor Protection automatically starts up and displays a flashing red light. When the shock has passed, a solid or flashing blue light displays indicating normal operation has resumed. When plugged into a PC, a steady bright blue LED indicates power, while a flashing blue LED indicates file transfer status.

The HV100 is offered with free copies of HDDtoGO and OStoGO software. The former allows users to be mobile, while the latter enables the installation of Windows OS via the external drive.

The hard drive is available now in 500GB, 1TB and 2TB capacities and priced at £44.90, £57.90 and £93.90, respectively.
