ADLINK Technology announces the official release of its latest ETX module, the ETX-CV, designed to help customers using ETX-based products upgrade their systems without changing existing carrier boards and operating systems. This latest offering provides a boost to the performance of customer's existing systems and prolongs service life for another 7 years, maximizing their return on investment.
The ETX-CV exemplifies ADLINK's commitment to serving the existing ETX customer base with continuing product development. ETX is an older computer-on-module form factor supporting ISA and PCI buses with limited availability of new module designs in today's market.

The new ETX-CV, adopting the latest dual-core 32nm process Intel Atom Processor D2000/N2000 Series and Intel NM10 Express Chipset, is an ideal upgrade for older ETX systems based on Intel 855/915/945 chipsets using Windows CE, Window XP or Linux operating systems.

Conforming to the latest ETX 3.02 specifications, the ETX-CV provides two additional onboard SATA connectors while maintaining full backward compatibility with earlier ETX standards. In addition, the new dual core Intel Atom™ Processor D2000/N2000 Series supports Intel Hyper-Threading Technology providing improved multi-tasking capability.

The Intel Atom Processor D2000/N2000 Series (formerly codenamed Cedarview) will be the last Intel processor to support the older ISA bus and Windows CE and Windows XP operating systems, meaning theETX-CV could be the best and last chance for ETX-based system upgrades. The ETX-CV also supports Windows 7 and VxWorks 6.x (on request).

By leveraging Intel's highly-efficient processors and ADLINK's outstanding thermal designs, the ETX-CV delivers better processing performance with reduced power consumption of between 6 and 12 watts, much lower than that of previous generation ETX products. The ETX-CV is available in three operating temperature ranges:

-Standard 0°C to +60°C
-Industrial -20°C to +70°C
-Extreme Rugged -40°C to +85°C(screened)

Positioned as a medium level module for generic systems, but also suitable for systems requiring a full set of graphics features, the ETX-CV comes with integrated support for analog VGA up to 1920 x 1200 resolution (WUXGA), single/dual channel 18/24-bit LVDS and onboard DisplayPort connector. The ETX-CV is suitable for applications in digital imaging, gaming, industrial test and automation, point of sales (POS), and industrial control.

ADLINK strives to minimize the total cost of ownership (TCO) of its customers by providing customization and system integration services, maintaining low manufacturing costs, and extending the lifecycle of its products. ETX-CV, as ADLINK's newest Computer on Module (COM) offering, is the most cost-effective solution to refresh existing systems with boosted performance, lower power consumption and another 7 years of service life.
