The new PicoMOD6 is the first ARM11-based board from F&S. Featuring a 533MHz CPU it has sufficient performance to display videos in VGA-resolution with 30fps (MPEG4/H264 decoder VGA@30fps, 2D, 3D, 5 window-layer). In addition the CPU features an integrated floating-point unit (FPU). The PicoMOD6 offers 64MB (1GB opt.) Flash and 128MB RAM and offers signals for 4x serial ports, 2x USB, I2C, SPI, I/O, Audio, CAN, Ethernet, SD-, CF-Card and touch controller.

The very flexible display interface can drive displays from QVGA up to SVGA. Due to the excellent energy efficiency the PicoMOD6 only requires 400mA at 3.3V. With its robust 140 pin header the PicoMOD6 can be connected to a customized baseboard. The module comes with pre-installed Windows CE (Linux will follow at a later date) including the necessary I/O drivers, so no further OS porting is necessary. A starter kit (PicoMOD6-SKIT with baseboard, cable set , media, documentation and software) will make the beginning of a new development very easy.

The only additional software that is necessary for Windows CE development is VS.NET (C++, C#, Basic). Like all F&S products the PicoMOD6 will be available for at least 5 years.
