Docking stations help turn laptop into a functional workstation

Startech.com has announced the release of a new family of docking stations, adding to the diverse line of docking stations that StarTech.com offers. The Essential family of docking stations is created with hot-desking, home-office and BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) office environments in mind.

Each of the docks is uniquely designed to deliver everything the average office worker needs in order to connect their essential devices and work productively. The docks feature a compact footprint that makes it easy for users to turn their laptop into a fully functional workstation, even in locations where space requirements are at a premium and device connections required are not as extensive. These features make the dock ideal for mass deployment in offices, schools and computer labs.

The new Essential family of docking stations include three SKUs with different display options, the SKUS are: USB3VDOCK4DP (4K DisplayPort), USB3VDOCKD (DVI), and USB3VDOCKH (HDMI).

Features of the Essential Docks include:

  • Compact, stylish black and silver design
  • Single external HD 2048 x 1152 video resolution output (DVI for USB3VDOCKD; HDMI for USB3VDOCKH) and for users who require a boost in image quality, 3840 x 2160 – 30Hz 4K output (DisplayPort for USB3VDOCK4DP)
  • Three USB 3.0 ports – two standard ports and one fast-charge and sync port
  • Always-on fast device charging port to charge smartphone and other small mobile devices even when the docking station isn’t connected to a laptop
  • Gigabit Ethernet RJ45 port with Wake-on LAN support
  • Easy-access 3.5mm 4-position TRRS headset port (audio plus microphone)

The Essential docking stations will be available from Insight, Misco, Amazon.co.uk and Dabs and is also distributed by Enta, Ingram Micro and Exertis.
