Desktop networking device achieves superior performance per watt

WIN Enterprises has announced the PL-80740. The desktop unit is an AMD-powered unit designed for network service applications. Supporting the AMD Embedded G-series SoC chipset, the PL-80740 can be guaranteed for extended product availability by WIN Enterprises.

The AMD G-series SoC achieves superior performance per watt in the low-power x86 MPU class of products when running multiple industry standard benchmarks. The G-series delivers an exceptional HD multimedia experience while supporting a heterogeneous computing platform for parallel processing. A choice of two AMD G-series processors are provided: the AMD GX-412TC QC 1.0GHz and the AMD GX-416RA QC 1.6GHz.

The platform supports onboard DDR3L 1GB memory up to a maximum of 2GB. The device is equipped with storage interfaces that include a 2.5” SATA HDD and CompactFlash. For networking utilities, the PL-80740 is equipped with eighth Copper GbE, USB 2.0 ports and an RJ-45 console port. A mini-card socket with LED indicators enables users to monitor power and storage device activity.
