JLT Mobile Computers has enhanced its VERSO+ 10 rugged computer solution with a new cradle optimised for the logistics markets including warehousing and transportation. Already a proven and popular computing platform for very challenging environments, the VERSO+ 10 rugged computer brings its exceptional computing power and compact, rugged form factor to logistics applications such as forklifts, picking trolleys and small truck cabins thanks to a new logistics cradle, specially optimised for indoor or in-cab use.

As with all JLT computers, the VERSO+ 10 computer is built from the ground up to deliver maximum reliability and function in demanding environments. Since its launch in spring 2014, the VERSO+ 10 computer has become popular in the mining, agriculture and maritime sectors because it provides a new level of flexibility and compute power to these environments.

The VERSO+ 10 rugged computer offers class-leading performance based on the latest generation of Intel cores; either the Intel Core i5 processor or the dual-core Intel D2550 processor, depending on the model. These processors ensure that the VERSO+ 10 computer can run even the most demanding applications while maintaining the responsiveness required for a positive user experience.

“Customers within the heavy-duty segments using the VERSO+ 10 computer in very demanding outdoor environments have quickly come to appreciate the compactness and slim design of this fast rugged vehicle computer. Soon after its launch, another segment of customers with a need for rugged computers inside the four walls started to see the same benefits of the VERSO+ 10 form factor,” commented Per Holmberg, CEO, JLT Mobile Computers. “We listened, and because we have our development in house we could quickly design and launch a solution that meets their needs in the most cost-effective way.”

The VERSO+ 10 rugged computer features a 10” sunlight readable XGA display, yet only measures 251x207x48mm including the cradle, which makes it the industry’s most compact form factor ideal for use in tight spaces. All VERSO+ 10 models include a flexible quick-mount feature, dubbed QuickLock, which allows easy mount and dismount of the computer. Easy mount and dismount means the computer can be quickly moved from vehicle to vehicle or removed at the end of the working day to prevent theft.

Additional built-in features include a 9-36VDC power supply, a backup battery to ensure uninterrupted operation during power drops, dual-band ac WLAN communication with built-in highly sensitive PIFA antennas, custom-made for reliable WiFi connectivity in environments with poor coverage, Bluetooth PIFA antennas with a resulting reliable communication with low-power hand carried peripherals and the option of external antennas for both WLAN and Bluetooth for very demanding environments.

An optional 4G LTE module can be added to provide wide area communications and the dock can also accommodate Assisted GPS and GLONASS technology. The VERSO+ 10 computer can be ordered with Windows 10 (with Core i5), Windows 8.1 Industry (with D2550), Windows 7 Pro or Windows Embedded Standard 7 operating systems.

More and more customers also go for the JLT:Care Service Level Agreement. With this No-Questions-Asked service added, customers are guaranteed a high support level and short repair times to maximise the up-time of the computer at predictable cost.
