Caswell announces CAR-3020, a new 1U rackmount communication/network security appliance that can be the total solution to fulfill customers’ needs for applications in WAN optimization, cloud computing and routers.

Caswell’s CAR-3020 1U rackmount communication/network security appliance is based on the Intel Crystal Forest-Gladden platform supporting Intel Communications Chipset 89xx Series (codenamed Cave Creek), and pin-to-pin compatible quad-core Intel Xeon, dual-core Intel Core and Intel Pentium and single-core Intel Celeron Processors (codenamed Sandy Bridge-Gladden). It also features Intel QuickAssist Technology providing security encryption/decryption up to 20Gbps for AES, DES, 3DES, RC4; Hash: SHA-1, MD5; and SHA-2 (SHA-224, SHA-256, SHA-384, SHA-512).

In addition, the CAR-3020 supports six 10/100/1000Mbps Ethernet ports, two bypass interfaces, one PCIe x8 golden finger for Caswell NIP card series, and two DDR3 Error Correction Codes memory sockets, up to 16GB.

Caswell’s CAR-3020 is perfectly positioned for network security applications such as firewall, VPN, IDS/IPS, anti-spam, anti-virus and UTM, and network management applications such as WAN optimization, routers, RAS gateways, QoS, server load-balancer, wireless controllers, and industrial automation control via Ethernet TCP/IP.
