Axiomtek’s Cost-effective Intel Core2 Quad Network Appliance Platform with 6 GbE Ports – NA-710

Axiomtek introduced the NA-710, a 1U 19” rackmount form factor platform featuring six Gigabit LAN ports with copper or fiber interface. The NA-710 network appliance platform based on the Intel® G41 Express chipset supports a number of different types of CPU configurations including Intel® Core™2 Quad processor, Intel® Core™2 Duo processor and Intel® Celeron processor. The cost-effective network platform supports up to 4GB DDR3 system memory with two memory sockets. For greater flexible, the NA-710 provides four different copper and fiber configuration that allow developers to configure LAN ports based on their solution requirements. For extended networking application, the extreme slim platform comes with a PCIe x8 slot. Moreover, this easy-to-use unit features two 2.5” SATA HDDs (or one 3.5” SATA HDD), one CompactFlash™ slot, a console port and two USB ports, which enhances its capability to deal with various application needs.

“With compact 1U-height form factor design, the brand-new NA-710 offers six high-speed Gigabit network connections and two-group LAN bypass function to ensure stable network connection. Other than the default six copper RJ-45 Gigabit LAN ports we offer three extending configuration options with a plurality of copper or fiber ports: the seven-port copper RJ-45 Gigabit LAN, the four-port RJ-45 Gigabit LAN plus two-port fiber SFP-type Gigabit LAN, and the five-port RJ-45 Gigabit LAN ports plus two-port fiber SFP-type Gigabit LAN,” said Philip Wei, Product Manager of Applied Computing & Network Device Business Unit at Axiomtek. “Besides, the NA-710 offers optional Cavium CN1005 VPN accelerator for better performance. It also supports BIOS redirection to improve IT efficiency. This flexible multi-Gigabit network appliance is ideal for VPN, firewall, UTM, and network management applications.”

The cost-effective NA-710 supports one 3.5” SATA HDD or two 2.5” SATA HDDs. There is also a single CompactFlash™ interface. For easy access and maintain, the front panel has two high-speed USB 2.0 ports, a console RJ-45 port, and front-facing LED indicators for power and HDD activities monitoring. One PCIe x8 slot is available for third-party cards. It also supports mainstream Linux kernel 2.4 and 2.6 operating system.
