Antenova has announced three families of antenna products which are suitable for M2M, wearable and IoT applications. Several antennas from each product family are to be released during 2015, with the first, a miniature ceramic antenna, becoming available in May. Each product family comprises embedded antennas of a particular style, and will be marketed under one of three brand names: lamiiANT, ceriiANT, and flexiiANT.

lamiiANT is a family of SMD antennas manufactured from FR4 materials, using the latest in dielectric constant laminate substrates. They are suitable for all wireless applications ranging from 680-2700MHz, including Bluetooth, WiFi, Zigbee, ISM, cellular, LTE and GNSS.

ceriiANT is a family of efficient miniature ceramic antennas that perform well close to the human body. They are suitable for connected consumer devices, wearable technologies and M2M applications.

flexiiANT is a group of flexible FPC antennas, with a cable and connector, that are attached to the underside covering or housing of a customer's product. They are suitable for numerous different applications and can be used in any wireless electronic market.

Antenova has created the three families to meet the increasing demand for wireless connectivity in the growing M2M, wearables and IoT markets. They will be used in consumer applications such as connected watches, tracking technology, and fitness devices, and will also have commercial applications in industry, automotive design, security and environmental controls.

Industry analysts expect rapid growth in the M2M market as enterprises adopt cloud computing and IoT, and consumers increasingly rely on smart devices and social media. Gartner has recently predicted that Smart Cities will use 1.1bn connected devices in 2015 and that this could rise to 9.7bn by 2020.

Commenting, Colin Newman, Director and Vice President of Sales, Antenova M2M, said: “Antenova is experiencing a surge of projects using embedded wireless in M2M, IoT and connected devices. We are working with the very latest technologies and materials available today to develop solutions that address these high growth markets, and meet the challenges of creating designs for these wireless applications.”

All of Antenova’s antennas are available through distributors worldwide.
