Amplicon has announced the release of its Impact-R 1000LP 1U rackmount PC. Utilising the low powered Intel Atom, the new system is less than half the depth of the existing 1U but still packs in many wining features.
The Impact-R 1000LP provides the processing power necessary for the majority of industrial applications, whilst using a third of the power of traditional systems. Low powered systems ideally lend themselves to applications with a limited power budget, such as vehicles or roadside cabinets. At only 220mm deep, it can fit into an extremely shallow depth cabinet or two systems can even be mounted back-to-back in a 600mm deep cabinet!

As standard the system comes supplied with a 160GB extended duty hard drive, designed to run 24/7. Improved environmental performance can be achieved by use of an industrial CompactFlash. Expansion is also available through a PCI card slot, suitable for half length cards such as data acquisition or additional communications ports. Built from industrial components, this product is roadmapped and available for 5 years.

The Impact-R 1000LP whilst being a compact system still has a wealth of I/O and other features, comparable to much larger systems.

* 3 serial ports (2 RS232, 1 RS232/422/485 selectable)
