21.5″ touchscreen panel PC for medical applications

Certified to the third edition of EN 60601-1, the WMP-227V is a 21.5″ touchscreen panel PC. BVM have developed the computer specifically for use in medical applications such as in the diagnosis, treatment, or monitoring of a patient. The fanless PC features an anti-bacterial IP65 sealed wipe-clean housing and all cable connectors are covered by a smooth fitted panel.

Based on the third Generation Ivy Bridge Intel Core i7/i5/i3 processors, the WMP-227V utilises the HM65 Express chipset to run HD Graphics. The display is an LCD 16:9 HD (1920×1080) 5-wire resistive touchscreen as standard. A projective capacitive version is also optionally available, which supports multi-touch to enable pinch and zoom functionality. For applications where multiple people may need to view an image simultaneously (such as operating theatres), the panel PC supports dual-screen display via the built-in DVI port.

Running on the Windows 7 Pro Embedded operating system, the medical PC features 8GB of RAM and a 320GB HDD. The WMP-227V features an autoranging 90-264V ac external power source, but it can accomodate an optional internal Lithium-Ion battery pack for backup purposes. The standard model offers a variety of expansion ports and external I/O interfaces including one PCIe x16 or PCI slot, four USB 2.0 ports, two COM interfaces (one RS422/485 and one RS232), one DVI-I output, two 3.5mm audio jack interfaces (one line-out and one mic-in), two Gigabit LAN ports and two mini PCIe ports.
