The standard of USB 3.0 offers a high speed data transfer rate up to 4,8 Gbit/s. This is becoming increasingly important when using mass storage devices, printer, scanner, TV interface, digital cameras or notebooks. Moreover, it is applied in industrial control systems and embedded computing.
W+P`s product range provides connectors, sockets and cable assemblies for SMT and THT. For devices with minimal space requirements, e.g. mobile phones a Micro USB 3.0 socket is the best choice. Type A versions can be found for example at PCs, Type B versions at peripheral devices.
The high data transmission rates are realized by a technology comparable to PCI-Express or Serial ATA. Therefore, additional wire pairs and supplement contacts are required. A downward compatibility to USB 2.0 and USB 1.1 is also given.
The insulator consists of thermoplastic according to UL94 V-0, the contact material of the spring contacts consist of copper alloy with selectively gold and tin plated surfaces. The solderability is guaranteed according to IEC 60512-12A, the operating temperature ranges from –55 to + 85°C.
