With its RADOX portfolio, TKD KABEL offers robust and powerful high-performance cables for harsh operating conditions in vehicles. One focus is on high-voltage cables for electrical power distribution in commercial vehicles and construction machinery.

The use of electrical energy in commercial vehicles continues to increase steadily, and the number and length of electrical cables used are also rising. In electric and hybrid commercial vehicles, it is important to ensure reliable high-voltage power distribution between the charging port, battery, and drive system. TKD Kabel provides the right solution with high-voltage (HV) cables from the RADOX series by HUBER+SUHNER: they combine performance with robustness – without straining the limited installation space.

Resistant thanks to electron beam cross-linked insulation

HV and LV cables benefit from special RADOX insulation. This is created using electron beam cross-linking, in which polymers are bonded together by electron bombardment. This produces plastics that are particularly resistant to thermal, mechanical, and chemical influences. RADOX HV cables are therefore characterised by high resistance to the typical influences encountered during charging and driving electric and hybrid vehicles, such as heat, battery acid, fuels, pressure, abrasion, etc. In addition, they offer high shielding in tight installation spaces and enable the absorption of high induced current loads.

Highly resilient connection

Part of the high-voltage portfolio is the HV cable assembly RADOX PowerTube & Pigtail Assemblies. Here, the HV-shielded cables are combined with the renowned TE PowerTube HVP-HD 1000 and HVP-HD 1400 connectors to create a solution that is precisely tailored to the operating conditions in electric and hybrid commercial vehicles. Manufactured using contactless, low-heat EMPT (Electro Magnetic Pulse Technology), it has minimal contact resistance. Vibrations at the motor level are reduced to a minimum, and 360° shielding ensures high electromagnetic compatibility. Depending on the operating temperature, the cables can handle electrical loads of up to 580 A continuous current and 1,000 V with conductor cross-sections between 35 and 150mm².

Automotive cables with conceptual service

Since fall 2024, TKD Kabel has been the official technical distribution partner for HUBER+SUHNER in the transport sector, specifically automotive, for Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and France. The specialist for cables, wires, cable systems, and accessories complements the portfolio with its comprehensive service, technical advice, and logistics services. TKD Kabel offers cables for the automotive industry, particularly for the areas of Automotive, Wires & Cables (AWC), Automotive Cable Systems (ACS), and Automotive Cable Accessories (ACA).
