This makes it possible to reduce the connector’s height above the circuit board by 2.0 mm to 9.45 mm. As an additional distinctive feature, two springs are contained within the housing to provide mis-mating protection by ensuring that other types of connectors – such as telephone connectors – cannot be inserted. The matching plug can only be inserted when these springs are pressed down completely. These unique characteristics are supplemented by other features, such as two integrated LEDs (green and yellow) as well as extensive shielding measures that have been implemented on the sides and in the upper portion of the connector to reliably prevent electromagnetic radiation and interference. Two soldering brackets located on the sides improve the connector’s grounding connection and provide it with high mechanical retention forces on the board. The service life is specified at a minimum of at least 5,000 mating cycles, operating temperatures range from -40°C to +105°C, and the maximum electrical load capacity per pin is rated at 11 VDC and 1.5 ADC.
Typical fields of application include space-critical broadband data connections in 10/100/1000Base-T Ethernet networks in the telecommunications and consumer goods industry and in medical device electronics. The new SUYIN RJ45 jacks are supplied in tape & reel packaging for high-speed automatic placement.
