First, connector insulators are assembled with pre-wired pins or sockets or connectors that have solder lugs on the back. Assembly drawings or solid models are used to determine the internal dimensions of the housings, handles, and probes that will contain the connectors. Injection over-molding forms the final assembly. A wide range of materials – from soft silicones to hard glossy shells – can be used in tool handles. Custom logos and colors can be incorporated.
Comments Greg Jones, Sales Manager: “More and more, industry is including interconnection elements within the equipment enclosure. Recognizing this, we have quickly ramped up our production capacity. This investment follows on quickly from the installation of a 340 square foot Cleanroom, here in our Minneapolis manufacturing plant, and means that we can be even more flexible in the support we offer our customers”.
Unlike other suppliers who require large production orders to undertake customized over-molding, Omnetics has organized its factory so that it is able to offer this precision service for any volumes from short runs to large quantities.
