SUYIN is expanding its extensive family of Serial ATA connectors (SATA stands for S-ATA or Serial Advanced Technology Attachment) to include the surface-mount mini-SATA host receptacle connector from the 127508FB016SX00ZR model series.
These right-angle, 16-pin receptacles comply with the low-profile mSATA™ standard established by the Serial ATA International Organization (SATA-IO). Their primary use is for connections that enable high-speed data transfer at up to 1.5 or 3.0 Gbit/s between a processor and the corresponding memory medium in miniaturized mobile devices, such as netbooks and notebooks.

However, they are also suited for use in very compact stationary systems for consumer electronics and industrial applications. These new blind-mating, hot-plugging receptacles have two side guide posts that are able to handle greater misalignment tolerances during insertion and prevent faulty mounting. Two retention clips, which are also located on the sides, have M2 threading and enable sturdy screw mounting on the printed circuit board. The 16 copper-alloy receptacle contacts have a 1.27-mm pitch and feature gold-over-nickel plating. They are configured for a max. load of 150 V DC / 1.5 A DC per pin and are specified for 300 mating cycles. The contact resistance is 30 mΩ (initial), the insulation resistance is 1000 MΩ (initial) and the maximum insertion force is 3.5 kg. The compact dimensions are 39.38 mm × 10.2 mm x 4.7 mm (L x W x H). The operating temperatures range is specified at -40 °C to +105 °C.
