The HR41A series, released by Hirose, is a group of IP68 rated, small, light plastic power connectors with advanced lightning surge protection of 15kV. The connectors are suited to power applications outdoors and in other harsh environments. When the connectors are mated, the unique waterproof gasket design prevents water intrusion, even while submerged in water at 2m for 14 days.

The push-on/twist off mating ensures a secure connection via a locking mechanism that provides a tactile click to signal complete mating. The connectors feature a three-step sequential mating structure with a safety design that allows the user to establish a ground connection prior to power.

The HR41A also features a user-friendly cable and housing assembly. In addition, this connector utilises a simple, quick, and highly reliable crimp termination method.

As well as being for outdoor applications such as LED lighting, street lamps, tunnel, boat and construction site lighting, the connectors are also suitable for base transceiver systems, electronic toll collection systems, and business transaction service applications.

The series has an operating temperature range of -40 to + 105°C, a maximum contact resistance of 5mΩ at 1A, and a maximum insulation resistance of 5000MΩ at 500VDC. The five-position connector also has a rated voltage of 250VAC and 350VDC, rated current of 10A, and a withstanding voltage rating of 2200VAC.

The HR41A series is UL certified, and pending TÜV certification.
