Locking SIM Connector from AVX suits GSM applications

AVX Corporation has introduced new 5036 series secure, high reliability locking SIM connectors targeted primarily at the GSM market. The connectors employ a push/push card insertion method, giving a clear indication that card has been located properly, and feature Card Detection to show that a card is present. All devices in the 5036 series have a locking facility.

New 5036 SIM connectors conform to the relevant international standards for SIM cards. Top and bottom metal casing ensures both a robust construction and excellent RFI shielding. Hand assembly is simplified by optional location pegs.

Comments Andy Kotas, AVX’s Connector Product Manager: “The locking system and robustness of our new 5036 SIM connectors means that they are a cost effective choice for applications such as utility metering, remote monitoring, machine-to-machine interfacing, asset tracking and data logging.”

Six and eight way versions are available. Operating temperature range is -40 to +85degC, and AVX can offer higher temperature versions as custom products to meet automotive standards.
