Junkosha will unveil its latest microwave/mmWave coaxial cable assembly solution at this year’s European Microwave Week (EuMW 2025) capable of transmitting from DC to 250GHz.
As the first solution of its kind, the new 0.5mm connector cable ‘MWX0A5’ represents a unique capability in the marketplace, placing Junkosha at the forefront of high-frequency cable innovation for the demands of probe stations and test setups for advanced chips, especially those designed for AI accelerators.
Developed from a blank slate collaboration with Keysight Technologies, MWX0A5 is engineered to meet the needs of engineers working at the limits of high-frequency testing for applications including semiconductor devices in AI-related chip characterisation and emerging THz research. While no device under test (DUT) currently features a 0.5mm interface, Junkosha’s latest 250GHz interconnect lays the foundation for the next generation of millimetre wave measurement systems at the heart of the future’s highly sophisticated systems.
“As AI data centres grow and demand more bandwidth, testing at higher frequencies becomes essential,” said David Tanaka, Product Manager at Keysight. “Together with Junkosha, we are able to deliver the required test accessories for broadband, sub-THz measurements.”
Tomohiro Ogawa, Product Manager for Junkosha adds: “Unmatched by any other cable or waveguide currently on the market, the cable maintains excellent return loss across the full frequency range up to 250GHz ensuring minimal signal reflection and superior transmission performance. Thanks to the benefit of Junkosha’s cabling which features a PTFE tape dielectric layer, this cable is equipped with features including low insertion loss only reaching about -7 dB at 250GHz, as well as a proprietary safety-lock connector for secure and repeatable connections.”
Junkosha will be exhibiting the MWX0A5 cable alongside its portfolio of cable solutions at European Microwave Week (EuMW 2025) in Utrecht at Booth F053 from the 23-25th September.
