The latest addition to Honda Connectors’ families of industrial products is the TAK Series of latching USB 2.0 connectors, which has been specifically designed to tolerate hostile conditions in the industrial environment.
Although the Universal Serial Bus has become the de facto standard for many electronic interfaces in office equipment applications, with ‘passive’ friction lock connectors from Honda Connectors and other leading suppliers meeting demands, this traditional device may be prone to failure in the more harsh environment of the serial and parallel port. It is for these applications that the TAK Series has been developed.

Embodying a highly robust construction, the TAK Series is available in four- or six-position versions, with a positive latch mechanism for secure connection, and three keying options. An optional screw-mounting flange further extends its versatility, and it offers space savings of up to 38% by comparison with a standard USB device. A further, four-position cable in-line version is also soon to be released.

Typical applications for the TAK Series connector include machine tools, vehicle accessories, recycling equipment, drives and controls, and data collection devices.
