Flexible junction box for crystalline photovoltaic modules

Yamaichi Electronics has announced the mature, flexible universal junction box for crystalline modules. The universal junction box from Yamaichi Electronics has already been successful on the market for many years, and has already been used in numerous photovoltaic modules. Its flexibility is particularly attractive. According to customer needs, up to eight contact bands can be installed in the box. Every string can be protected in case of shadow by an SMD bypass diode

The diodes are installed on a circuit board. This permits even greater flexibility. The crossings of the contact bands can be done conventionally in the module or in the junction box using a crossed circuit board. The latter variant can reduce the costs of module manufacture, since no insulation needs to be laminated between the crossings of the contact bands.

There are also different variants of contacts of the bands available for selection. Depending on the production process, module manufacturers can select between clamp contacting and solder contacts. This permits adaptation to individual production requirements.
