HARTING's M12 connector in crimp format is ideally suited to the requirements of the rail industry, combining, as it does, compact footprint and ease of assembly. The requirement for high-speed transmission of signals and data within trains has led rolling-stock designers to incorporate Ethernet communication links into modern rail vehicles, and the M12 connector is a key device in interfacing between Ethernet switching devices and the various subsystems within the train.

Featuring an overall length when assembled of 41.5 mm for the male versions and 38 mm for the female version, the M12 crimp connector type can be assembled quickly and easily in the field using standard tools.

The M12 crimp connector incorporates four standard D-Sub contacts, and is rated at 4 A and 32 V. It is suitable for wire gauges of AWG 22-30 (0.34 to 0.5 mm2), and meets UL 94 V0 flammability requirements.
