Cord sets, specifically designed for high-intensity cleaning processes, have been released by Belden as part of it's Lumberg Automation portfolio. Featuring gold-plated crimp contacts and IP67, IP68 and IP69K certification for ingress protection, the Wash-Down Cord Sets are claimed to withstand the high-shock and vibration found in industrial environments.

With a seal of quality from ECOLAB, the cord sets fulfil stringent requirements relating to impermeability and resistance to a wide range of aggressive chemicals and cleaning agents. The Wash-Down Cord Sets are also UL certified for temperatures up to +90°C and operate from 40 to +105°C, making them suitable for for the extreme temperatures of industrial applications. Compared to traditional hardwired systems, the cord sets are fast and easy to install and replace.

“Ensuring the reliability of connected, automated systems in industrial settings is absolutely essential for businesses focused on improving productivity and profitability,” said Fabian Seymer, Product Manager, Lumberg Automation. “By withstanding the most extreme industrial conditions and making it easier to install and replace connectors and cables, these wash-down cord sets help businesses minimise the risk of unplanned downtime, while lowering maintenance costs.”
